A Really Good Day by Ayelet Waldman
February 4, 2017

I just finished this extremely interesting book about microdosing lsd to obtain subclinical effects: improved mood, increased creativity, increased attention span, less irritability. It made me want to try micro dosing too but, unfortunately, the psychotropics I am on would block the effect of the drug.
Perhaps just as interesting as the story of Waldman's "trip" with LSD are her views into drug policy and the failed war on drugs that has consumed this country. A former public defender, Waldman has seen arcane laws imprison good people, even innocent people who were conned into drugs by undercover DEA agents. The book tells a chilling story of a country, our country, made insane by prohibition era mentality that rests not on the facts but on fear.
